Full Time Writer now needed in the Rock Hill , South Carolina Area!

F/T Writer/Editor

This job focuses on writing and editing content for both print and online use, with particular emphasis on Public Information and Web materials. The job entails writing, editing, proofreading at all stages of production, and coordinating and/or assisting in the production of content for Tax-Exempt organization's Website.

In addition, this position will develop as a back-up support role for the public Relations function, including screening media calls, maintaining media contacts and databases, assisting in special fundraising events.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Writes and edits content, applying logical, analytical, and language skills to edit highly social and financial material, recasting material as necessary for accessibility, appropriateness for readership and quality control.
• Contributes to the organization communications strategy to adapt new technology as a delivery channel for external audiences and to maximize user experience.
• Contributes to publications content and design concept and development, researching topics and feasibility of ideas as requested.
• Copyedits all content, ensuring conformity to style or scientific notation standards of documentation prior to publishing. Proofreads all stages of department publications, from manuscripts to file; reviews proofs prior to publishing.
• Provides editing for ad hoc print or online materials, press releases, speeches, conference materials, brochures, curriculum, and other content.
• Writes and/or edits website articles, brochures, press releases, media advisories and other organizational   materials and reports as requested.
• Provides back-up support to the Media Relations function, demonstrating proficiency in executive speech process and screening/handling media requests on wide-ranging topics.
• Carries out special fundrasing projects as assigned, and stays current on local and national funders who  donates to international causes

EDUCATION

Bachelor's Degree in English, Journalism, Communications.

None, but must demonstrate ability to influence informally and manage up.
